The village of Banpotoc
In the heart of Transylvania, surrounded by the ancient forests of Romania, lies a village of special beauty.
Banpotoc is a small village in the commune of Hărău in Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania. It is located in the east of Harau commune, near the river Mureș, at the foot of the Metal Mountains.

The region is known for its rich metal deposits, especially gold and silver, which have been mined since ancient times. The name "Metal Mountains" reflects the rich metallurgical history and natural resources of these mountains.
Banpotoc is located partly in a river plain and partly on a hilly area. The highest peak is 638 metres high and is called "Vârful Cornetului". The hilly area makes up about 70% of the village.

Other places of interest include the Densuş Church, the Prislop Monastery, the Geoagiu Baths, Sarmizegetusa Regia and the other Dacian fortresses in Costeşti, Blidaru and Piatra Roşie, Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, the Colţ Fortress, the Gold Mining Museum in Brad and the Aurel Vlaicu Memorial Museum.
One of the main attractions in Banpotoc is "I Giardini di Zoe", a private Italian-style garden.
